Originally opened as the Bedford Centre on December 5, 1978, it became a familiar meeting place for generations of shoppers, workers, and families. It underwent a major £1 million refurbishment in 1995, which is when it was rebranded as the Beacon Centre. In recent years, many units stood empty as the town centre evolved and regeneration plans took shape. These images capture the centre in its final chapter—a place filled with memories, changing one last time.
